Virus Research and Biotechnology Research Center, then Scientific and Manufacturing Company "RESEARCH CENTER" was founded more than 25 years ago on the basis of "Vector", the world's most significant virus research and biotechnology scientific center, which contains a collection of all viruses, bacteria, and microbes known to science, and where unique scientific and applied research is conducted in various fields of microbiology. Vektor was founded by decree of the USSR Ministry of Culture and the State Supervision of the Microbiological Industry.
One of its important areas of activity was the development of universal preparations to protect the population and those performing active military service in the event of the use of unknown bacteriological weapons, bacteriological warfare, and other biogenic disasters. Scientists succeeded in developing a preparation whose active source was Bacillus subtilis VKPM B-7092 and other bacteria. Víruskutató- és Biotechnikai kutatóközpont majd Tudományos-gyártó cég «KUTATÓKÖZPONT» több mint 25 évvel ezelőtt alakult a Világ legjelentősebb víruskutató-és biotechnológiai tudományos Központja, a „Vektor” bázisán, mely a tudomány által ismert vírusból, baktériumból és mikrobából álló gyűjteményt tartalmazza, és ahol egyedi tudományos és alkalmazott kutatásokat végeznek a mikrobiológiai különböző területein.
